Website planning

Build a small, usable identity kit.

Think beyond the logo preview: plan the files, variations and everyday uses a website identity needs.

01

Start with the smallest use

List the places the mark will appear: browser icon, mobile header, document heading and social profile. Ask to see it at those sizes. A design that looks striking in a large mock-up may lose its identifying detail in a narrow header.

02

Ask for a practical handover

Keep approved colour values, a one-colour variation, usage notes and suitable source files together. Record any font or artwork licensing information supplied by the designer. Agree which files you can edit and who can answer future questions.

03

Give text its own job

Do not put an essential explanation only inside the logo artwork. Keep the business name and navigation available as text where appropriate. Check how the mark behaves against light and dark backgrounds before approving it.
