Website planning

Look at the decision behind the design.

Use a portfolio review to ask how a website works, not just how its homepage looks.

01

Choose a visitor task

When comparing examples, pick a concrete task: find a service, understand a price or contact the right person. Follow that task on a narrow screen as well as a desktop. Record where the design helps and where you have to guess.

02

Ask what belongs to the example

A portfolio image may show a concept, a past version or a finished live site. Ask which work the designer actually delivered and what changed afterward. A named client or attractive screenshot does not establish responsibility for every part of a project.

03

Keep your own reference notes

Save the address, the date you viewed it and the specific idea you found useful. Describe the principle instead of copying another site’s assets. Historical portfolio addresses from this domain are recorded separately as source references; they are not clients or projects claimed by this publication.
